Operations Leadership, Transformation & Results

Patrick Fennell is a global aviation executive with more than two decades of C-suite leadership across four continents. He has served as COO and Accountable Manager at airlines spanning low-cost, ACMI, cargo, charter, and flag operations, from AirAsia in Kuala Lumpur to Texel Air in Bahrain to Danish Air Transport in Europe, with hands-on experience few consultants can match.

His career centers on operational transformation at scale. He has launched start-ups, led airlines through restructuring, and driven record profitability in volatile markets. He has run seven airline start-ups, managed budgets over $50 million, and built leadership teams across more than a dozen countries. As Group COO at Danish Air Transport, he led the airline to its strongest financial result in 35 years.

Patrick works comfortably in the boardroom and on the hangar floor. He is a published author on airline operations and a regular conference speaker. He holds an MSc in Air Transport Management from Cranfield University, a qualification in Aviation Leasing and Finance from the Law Society of Ireland, and a diploma from the Institute of Directors, which informs the governance and board-level perspective he brings to clients.

His advisory work covers airline start-up and scale-up, operational restructuring, digital and data transformation, MRO strategy, and go-to-market planning for aviation technology. He combines regulatory credibility, commercial judgment, and technology fluency, with a track record of turning operational complexity into competitive advantage.
