Tony Merrigan has spent more than four decades in aviation, across regulation, air navigation, and business development. He started in air traffic control and spent 20 years as Head of Customer Relations at the Irish Aviation Authority, which gave him both a regulator's perspective and a network spanning the whole industry, from authorities and manufacturers to airlines and startups.
Since then, his work has centered on connecting people and opening markets. He has led airline outreach for Aireon and FlightAware, served as Enterprise Ireland's aerospace "pathfinder" into the US and the Eurozone, and advised the European Commission and EU-funded programs through Schuman Associates in Brussels. He has a long record of getting aviation-technology companies in front of the right decision-makers.
Tony also works at board level, as a non-executive director for Part M Aviation Ireland and through client advisory work with Martyn Fiddler Aviation Ireland. He is widely known as a connector with a sharp instinct for which opportunities are real, and he is rarely without the right introduction or a good story to go with it.
